One down, one to go!

Ryan passed the Patent Bar today!!!! YEA!
No more studying. No more stressing. At least for the rest of the summer. Now he just needs to pass the Bar next year, but who wants to think about that now?

It's been a while since I've put pictures on our blog, so here a few of us bowling with Ryan's firm.

The bowling alley big and expensive.

Here we are ready to bowl. You'll notice the big screens in the background- they played music videos that you can pick from a video jukebox and someone put in like all of Phil Collins songs. So we saw him singing over and over and over and over and over, that was the only downside to the night.

This place was so posh they didn't even have the colorful bowling shoes. Everyone had these matching black and white ones.

The bowling alley also catered our food. It was pretty nice too. And they had a bar and served drinks, but we stuck with the Fiji water.

Here is Ryan with the other two summer interns at his firm. There are only three of them this year.

We bowled 2 games normal, but on the third they had us crazy bowl. They had a list of things you had to do. Things like bowling between each others legs, hopping on one foot, and kneeling on the ground.

- I hate math! I take Ryan to the store with me so he can keep track of our price and I don't have to. I like to think we're a good match with his math and computer skills and my creativity:)

Congrats to Ryan!

Ryan just found out he got the CALI award in his LARC III class. Pretty much that means he did the best in the class. Way to be! He did really well this last semester and I'm very proud of him. We're both excited that he's doing so well and only has one more year left :)

I like to ride my bike!

Yesterday I got a new bike (well, new for me). One of the many girls in our ward who is expecting a baby sold it to me. I rode it to work this morning. It was so great! Now we just need to get a bike for Ryan so we can go riding together. No honey, not that kind of bike, just a pedal bike:)

We also got an air conditioner installed yesterday. We've only had it one night and don't even run it all the time, but I can tell such a difference already. This summer is starting out to be the best yet!

VHS Tapes out of style?

New technology is awesome! I won't deny that, but sometimes the old tried and true is the best way to go. When you go to the video store you're bombarded with the new releases on DVD or even better, Blue Ray Disk (which won the war against HD DVD to become the leading carrier for high-definition content to consumers, if you didn't know). But for real, I don't get a movie for the highest definition video or high-density optical disk format designed for more storage of data(all great things I'm sure, but...), I rent a movie just for the simple pleasure of being entertained!
So when Ryan and I went into Hollywood video this last weekend to browse, I got excited when I saw they were selling their VHS tapes for 25 cents!!! No, there aren't any new releases or anything exciting like that still on the old and out-of-date VHS tapes. But for $5 (which is what it would have cost us to rent a new release here) we were able to get 20 tapes such as Disney's Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Herbie, to Classics like Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Kiss Me Kate, to just all around great shows like DragonHeart, Coach Carter and Moulin Rouge! It was surprising how many good shows we found.
What's crazy is how many people were passing up this opportunity and just renting a show or two. Maybe they don't have tape players. I guess I'm just old fashioned, but does it really matter what format my movies come in?

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!

Yesterday, June 2nd was my parent's 30th Wedding Anniversary. Congratulations! In today's society this makes them even more extraordinary then they already are. They were married in the Ogden, Utah temple 30 years ago. They have 5 children (4 of which are married) and 3 grandchildren. All you need is love:)
