This post is a few months overdue, but I wanted to be sure to write a special post just for Asher.
He is a great kids. He is growing so big and is always on the move. Here are his stats:
Height: 36 inches (85-95%)
Weight: 32.5 lbs (95-97%)
Head Circumference: 19.5 inches (80%)
He definitely is such a boy :) He loves cars and trains, tools and fixing things. He loves to be outside in any capacity: walking, running, riding bikes, stroller rides, getting the mail, playing ball, going to the park, etc. He is a smart kids and understands us most of the time. Though the times he doesn't, I think it's just because he doesn't listen and is not paying attention. His newest obsession is puzzles. We got a lot of new puzzles from a friend and he takes them apart and puts them together several times a day. He loves to line them all up and take all the pieces out of all of them and make a big pile. Then we go through and find what puzzle the piece goes to and where it goes in the puzzle.
He is slowly getting better with talking. He only communicates with us using single words though. Such as, 'more', 'waffle', 'no', 'shoes', 'paci', 'broke', and the occasional 2 words: 'bike ride', 'love you', etc. He is getting really good at repeating the last word of whatever we say. He loves to read books and will say the words when we read them to him. He even sleeps with his books and has to have atleast 2 under the covers with him. We are taking him to a screening test to make sure he doesn't get behind with speaking in 2 weeks, so we'll see what the professionals say.
He is still a major daddy's boy. When Ryan is home, Asher wants him to do everything with him. He doesn't like me to help with anything. Though I'm sure it helps that Ryan is a push-over and lets Asher get his way a lot :) He also loves his Uncle Richard. He points him out in all the photos he's in. When we ask him who he misses, he says "chichard". When Richard was visiting, he wouldn't even let his daddy change his diaper, it had to be Richard. What a funny boy!
He does have some terrible two's moments. He has learned how to throw a tantrum. I think it mainly comes from frustration at not being able to communicate with us. Though sometimes it's just because he doesn't get his way. He is starting to be more cuddly at times. Sometimes he will climb onto my lap and just lay there. He loves hugs and lets me hug and kiss him several times a day. Every time I change his diaper, I ask for a hug and kiss after and he always does. He now hugs and kisses me without being asked :) Love it! He's a sensitive boy (like his daddy), but because of this he always makes sure to share. He includes everyone when playing and always makes sure no one is left behind.
He loves to watch his 'shows'. His favorite is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but he also likes Shaun the Sheep, Little Einstiens, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I try to limit his tv watching because he totally zones out when the tv is on. He loves the tv unfortunately. We are getting a deck built onto our townhome and I'm excited to be able to send him outside to play. Right now we don't have any outside space that he can play in, especially since we have to be home when Vaden is napping, but soon we will. I'm very excited and I'm sure Asher will be too.
We love Asher so much. He is such a great brother and is loving and caring to his family. He loves being active and involved. He has just the right amount of adventure and curiosity to be the first child, and the right amount of stubbornness to help us be good parents. Asher is wonderful at forgiving us, while encouraging us to play, love, hug, and just be involved with him.
