A boring words only post

Hmm, the title isn't exactly clear. Melanie read it, "A 'boring-words' only post." Really, it's supposed to be "A boring 'words-only' post." So far it's living up to it's name.

Really I just wanted to let everyone know that we are doing well. I felt good about the Bar exam. Afterward we went to visit Wendy/Trent and kids. That was fun to see them. Then Mel and I took a week off and did nothing, which was nice. Now I've started my job. Which I guess means I'm all grown up, because it's a real job. Not that other jobs I've had weren't real, but this one will be for a lot longer than a summer or semester. I hope. Mel's aunt Cam and cousin Heidi came and visited last week. They did about as much as you can in 3 or 4 days here. I was able to go to Mount Vernon with them on Saturday. It was fun. Now Melanie wants a house like that. At it's peak, Mount Vernon was some 8,000 acres with 10 miles along the Potomac. Mansion, stables, gardens, fruit trees, docks, servants, views, etc. Oh, and it cost $200,000 in 1850.

Okay, that's it for now. Get excited for a non-boring pictures post coming soon!

Catch up!

Okay, it's been a while since I've posted anything. So here's a short update on what we've been doing this summer:

Ryan had been busy all summer studying for the Bar Exam. He took it last week and we are soooo glad to have it over and done with. He feels he did okay, but we'll have to wait 2-3 months until we find out if he passed or not. We'll keep you posted:)

Here's Ryan ready to take the bar. It was raining like crazy on the second day of the exams!

Though Ryan was busy with the bar we still managed to do some fun things. We got season passes to Six Flags and have gone a few times. Our favorite is the Superman ride. It goes so fast and the drops are intense!

I have been busy taking care of Ryan and also starting my new job. I am working for my mom. She still does her K-Screens and Stitches business but she is expanding it. She is going to be opening a store later this year so I am helping her with that. I went to Utah for a couple weeks to get started. Now I'm busy making things for her store inventory and also helping her design and decorate her store. I also am trying to make sure we think about everything and that we don't overlook any details since she is busy with the construction of the house/store and continuing to run her business. So I'd love it if anyone has any tips, advice, ideas, etc. Let me know!

Here is my new office

I turned our second bedroom into my work area.

Well, that has been our summer. And now it's almost over. Ryan starts work on Monday. We are excited for him to start and to have a real job with a real paycheck:) We're grateful he has his job since we keep hearing about people getting deferred for 6 months to a year. I'll be sure to make him post about his job once he gets a sense of what it will be like.
