Townsend's Baptism

Now that Ryan and I live in Virginia, we are able to see some of Ryan's family more. We have visited Trent and Wendy and their kids in North Carolina twice now. We recently went down two weekends ago for Townsend's baptism.

Everyone together. We had a great weekend and love hanging with the family.

Ryan's other sister, Amy goes to George Mason University so is about 20 min. from us and comes to Sunday dinners. This last Sunday we made cookies and decorated them.

And to get more into the season, we decorated!

This is also a small sampling of things I am making for my mom's new store to open on Halloween!

I will be flying to Utah in less than 2 weeks to help my mom set up her store. I hope you visit the store, but if not at least visit the blog and website when they are up. I will definitely announce that.

Over the Summer...

So it has been a long time since we've posted anything. We keep busy with our jobs. This summer we did have the opportunity to relax, go touring and have fun. My biggest tourist outing was with my Aunt Cam and Cousin Heidi. They came and spent 4 fabulous days with us and we saw a LOT. Talk about walking all day! Here are some quick pictures of what we did.

Here is a view of Old Town Alexandria. I love Old Town and walking around the cute shops and going to the river front.

One night we even went on a guided Ghost tour through Old Town. It was fun to walk around being guided by the lantern and hearing ghost stories. Though they weren't really scary:)

We went to Mount Vernon. This place is soooo cool. I just love being so close to so many historical sites.

We spent a couple of days in Downtown D.C. at The Mall. Here is the Capitol Building.


The Library of Congress
There is so much to do in Washington D.C. that I plan on making a whole other blog. We went to the Natural History Museum, American History Museum, Washington Monument, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and more.


The Smithsonian Castle. This looks really cool on the outside, but is really just the information center for the Smithsonians. But still worth visiting and watching the video.


Here is Arlington Cemetery.


The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier being guarded. It was fun to watch the changing of the guard, though I would never want that job.

Anyway, that's a quick recap of some of what we have seen our first summer here. We loved having Cam and Heidi here. Now everyone else should come visit so we can tour the rest of D.C. :)
