We just had our family pictures taken.  The kids change so much during the year, and we have a new little one to add!  I love our little family!

Grandpa and Grandma Haddock

My parents came out to visit a couple week ago.
They got to meet Emmet for the 1st time!  He is such a good baby:)
We had fun visiting, but I think our favorite day was when we went to Great County Farms with the kids.  The kids got to play with their grandparents and pick pumpkins!
Daddy and Emmet coming down the slide.
 Vaden rode with Grandma!
 She's a happy girl!
Emmet even joined in the fun:)
 With Daddy's help of course.
 Vaden ready to slide
 Asher ready to slide
 Driving the tractor.
So much fun for the kids.  (in reality driving tractor is not that fun!)
 Race time!
Everyone got to go down the slides!
Asher is king of the Tire Hill.
Vay's always able to get a ride from Daddy.
We also tried out the rope maze.  My time- 2 min. 30 sec.  Ryan's time- 8 min. 30 sec.

It was a fun visit and always nice to have my parents stay with us.  They also bought birthday gifts for everyone.  Thanks!

My Birthday Weekend- Day 2

On day 2 we went to Strasburg, Pa and road the train through Amish country.
The kids were very excited to ride the train.  It's so fun to be able to share things with them as they get older!
Of course, after riding the train for about 5 minutes Asher wanted to be done and get off.  It was a 45 minute ride.
No, this wasn't the real train:)  But the kids love anything that is their size.
Emmet and I enjoyed the ride.  It was a little bumpy even though we weren't going very fast.  It's hard to imagine riding a train like this across country and it being the best way to travel.
Asher and Vaden with their new 'train' toys.
Emmet joining in with the big kids.

After our train excursion, we headed to Hershey, PA.
We weren't able to do the theme park or some of the other attractions because we went in October, but that is probably for the best while traveling with little kids:)
Vaden liked the floor!  She ran around it playing on the circle and cows.
We went on the little ride they have that explains how chocolate is made.  We attempted to take a family photo but Asher was a little to short and in the edge:)
The singing cows.  It was a cute ride, but totally showed the personality of my kids.
Asher had to be held the entire time because he was scared and "want it to be over."
Emmet just hung out and was chill the whole time.
Vaden had a great time even if she didn't know what was going on.  She said "Wheeeee!"  the whole time.
Good bye Chocolate world!  Thank you for all the souvenirs:)

My Birthday Weekend- Day 1

For my birthday, we planned a trip to PA.  On our way there we stopped at Gettysburg.

It was a beautiful place, but such a sad history.

It is always interesting to see places that we've learned about in history and try to imagine what it would have been like.

We didn't get to drive the whole place or go to the museum because of the young kids.  Maybe some day we can go back and actually stop at each location and read about the battle there.

The kids with Dad at one of the monuments.

I got a good smile from all but Asher:)

Vaden loves Emmet so much and loves to help do everything for him.  Even though it usually slows us down, we try to encourage her to take care of him.

 At the cannon.

 One of several battlegrouds.

 I love the changing leaves.

After Gettysburg, we continued on the Lancaster, PA where we stayed in The Steamboat Hotel.
The kids loved it.  There was a pirate play park with a ship and slides and swings.  They played there all evening.  Then we walked around the pond (twice).

I think Asher's favorite part was the bunk beds!  He was so excited that his bed was on top of Vaden's.  (When we got home after our trip, he wanted to go back to our other 'house' meaning the hotel.  Then he wanted us to put his bed on top of Vaden's.)
Eating breakfast at the hotel.

Great Country Farms

I took the kids to Great Country Farms the other weeks with some friends.
Vaden and Asher jumping on the big bouncing pillow.
We had a lot of fun and did a lot!
Playing in the corn and getting all dirty!
The Farm had a lot of fun things for the kids to do.  They had playgrounds and slides and lot of other fun things.
Vaden and Cameron.  So cute!
They of course had animals and apple picking too.
On the way to pick apples. Vaden, Cameron, Asher, Jackson, and Kara.
The apples were delicious and we ate some right off the tree!
Picking Apples
Of course Asher wanted to pick the ones up high, so I put him on my shoulders and lifted him up.  But he would always try to reach the ones that were far away, not the ones I would lift him directly to.
Yummy apples!
Probably our favorite activity was the barrel slides.  They were a lot of fun and everyone could go!
Mom, Vay and Asher at the top of the slides.
At the bottom of the slide!

The kids being animals!
