Easter Recap

We had a fabulous Easter. Here is our Easter basket: full of candy, movies and a new toy for Asher.

After church, we had dinner with our friends and neighbors the King's. I made honey ham with pineapple on top. Yummy!

Our simple Easter table setting.

And of course we had to put the bunny ears on the babies:)

Asher's Two Month Checkup

Asher turned 2 months old yesterday and today I took him in for his 2 month check-up.

He is one happy, healthy, growing boy! Here are his stats:

Weight: 14 lbs. 8 oz. (95%)
Height: 24.5 in. (97%)
Head circumference: 16 in. (90%)

He also got his shots yesterday. One orally, and two in each leg. He ate the medicine right up, he didn't even spill a drop! He cried with each shot but calmed down right after and snuggled right up to me.

Asher loves to snuggle. He loves being held. He also loves to sleep on mom or dad, but he is really good to go to bed in his bassinet at bedtime. I can usually swaddle him and put him in his bassinet and he will sit there quietly until he falls asleep. He has been sleeping really well, we only get up around 2:30 and again at 5:30-6:00, then he finally wakes up at 7:30-8:00.

He LOVES changing time. He always smiles and is starting to babble when we change his diaper. He also is a big kicker. When we put him on the changing pad he immediately starts kicking both legs, sometimes swinging his arms up and down too. He has always been a good eater, whether being breastfed or bottle fed. He's not picky!

We try and take him outside a lot and I will take him on walks in his stroller. He usually falls asleep during these walks, or car rides. He has started to slobber and spit-up a little bit. He never spit-up before so I'm hoping it's just a phase and he'll go back to no spit-up. He loves when his Dad comes home and plays with him. He can be content to sit by himself and kick, but sometimes he just likes to have attention. We don't have to be holding him, just talking to him and playing with him. He really likes me to sing to him (he's the only one!).

I love Asher's eyes. They are so big and blue and his eyelashes are getting really long and going dark. But he always has his eyes open so big and never blinks that looking scared/curious has become his signature look.

This picture doesn't quite portray it, but you can get an idea.

Along with kicking and swinging his arms, Asher is discovering how to use other body parts. He is starting to 'talk' more and more. He also has started sucking on his hands/fingers when he doesn't have his pacifier. The funniest thing is his toes. They are so long, he moves them and wiggles them, and spreads them, and interlocks them!

It is amazing hard to get a picture of him interlocking his toes. Here is the best shot I got at this attempt.

Asher also likes taking baths. He just sits there all relaxed while I bath him. He doesn't laugh, or cry, or kick, or splash, he just sits there. It's kind of funny and sometimes I wonder if he likes it or not, but I think he likes it and is just relaxing:) He is also getting more hair! I can see where his hairline is going to be and am excited to see how he looks with more hair.

Asher is a fun and happy baby boy that both Ryan and I are grateful to have.

Daddy trying to dress Asher!

'Nuff said...

Asher loves to make faces. He's gotten really good at sticking his tongue out.

Ryan's favorite face.

Asher's first play date. He's got the looks, the outfit, the big blue eyes- what girl could resist?

He's also appropriately scared of girls his age.

Great Falls National Park

Ryan took Asher and me to the Great Falls National Park last Saturday.

It was about a half hour drive away. It started raining when we were at the first lookout point. But luckily didn't last long:)

Here is a picture from the lookout.

Here's Ryan and Asher all ready for hiking. Asher slept the whole time.
