New Moon!

Ryan and I went and saw New Moon on Friday. We went to the 12:01 showing. It was a lot of fun to go with him and I loved the show. I thought it was really well done and followed the book pretty well. Though I have to admit that I really like Jacob in the movie. Usually, especially while reading the books, I am Team Edward. So I guess as far as the story goes, I'm Team Edward, but as for the actors I am Team Taylor Lautner:)

Getting Sworn In

Ryan was sworn is as an attorney a couple weeks ago, but I wanted to post about it since I'm so proud of him.

Store Close-up

I set up the store so that it hopefully showcases the six different services Treadle Works offers.

Cut Works

We have a vinyl cutting machine. There are different types of vinyl. Heat Press vinyl that can be used to adorn a t-shirt and regular vinyl that is used on tile, wood and the wall. It's what we used for our wall art in the entry way and also on the door and signs for the store name and store hours.

Quilt Works

We have a quilting machine that we use to make and sell quilts. The quilting machine can also be rented if you want to quilt your own. It's quite simple really and I think it's lots of fun:)

This is one of my favorite quilts that my mom did. It's awesome!

I also quilted a lot of smaller blankets to sell in the store. If you have the right fabric, they can turn out really cute! And since the smaller ones aren't pieced together, they are more affordable too;) I also quilt on purses and other such things to give it a specific look.

Stitch Works

We use the embroidery machine to stitch out some really cool, fun, pretty patterns. Embroidery can be used on so many different things.

Here is one of my favorite sets that I did. A cute safari quilt with matching pillows, a tag blankie and a stuffed dog. My favorite is when I get to combine different sections of the business and be more creative. Like here when I embroidered the quilt blocks and then used the quilting machine to quilt it together, and then being creative and taking things a big further with the tag blankie and the dog.

Etched Works

The Sandblaster has expanded my mom's business. It's still customizing and designing, just in a different direction. If you zoom in you can see Blake's custom picture frame as the example. Everything else is an example of what is waiting and ready to be etched.

Screen Works

This is what got it all started- Silk-screening! My mom does a lot of silk-screen jobs still, especially for the schools in Morgan (notice all the maroon). She can do any design with multiple colors. We even have a section for baby/kids clothes.

Stone Works

Rhinestones have become really popular and we are getting more into them. We've recently updated the technology we use and can customize rhinestone designs too. I love rhinestones! They are great for glamorizing your clothes or just emphasizing other designs.

Of course we had a Halloween display since we opened on Halloween Weekend.

Thanksgiving. Make sure to notice the dream catcher. That is just one of many I made- and not my favorite, but it still gives you an idea of what is there.

And Christmas! My favorite is the tree with the embroidered ornaments and the matching tree skirt.

Make sure if you get the chance to stop by the store and check it out in person. But if you can't, I hope my posts have given you a good view of what we have. And no, you don't have to go to the store to order something, you can call us up or email or even comment and we can make further arrangements. Isn't technology great:)

The Grand Opening

Well, we did it! We got the store up and running. It was a crazy couple of weeks. We had to finish construction of the area first by putting in the floors and finding all the right furniture to put in the store. We weren't actually able to move into the store until last Wednesday with opening day just 2 days after that. I think the store turned out pretty good though. We had a few people stop in on Friday and check it out, though Saturday (Halloween) was our big day. Once 4:00 came around we were really really busy with all the trick-or-treaters. We decided to give away free t-shirts to the first 50 trick-or-treaters to get people to come to the store. We ended up giving away 150 t-shirts with a design heat pressed on. But it was good and generated a lot of traffic through the store and let a lot of people know we were there. I think it will expand mom's business and hopefully we'll sell some things from the store to. Here are some pictures of the store:

Here is the front of the house with the store sign, the grand opening sign and the balloons! The stucco didn't quite get done on time because it snowed and got really cold but it should be done this week.

Going Inside:

Here's our entry way. I love the vinyl on the walls and that we have a real Treadle Machine welcoming people to our store:) Oh, and ignore the ladder. It's not usually there.

Then turning to the left, is our store! We've got our motto over the store entrance and lots to see. Tomorrow, I will do another post that will showcase our sections in the store better and you can better see what we are selling.

Here's the check-out counter and mom's office and workspace. (though her main workspace is downstairs and much bigger)

This little section is where customers can sit and look through all the magazines and books that mom has so they can decide what they want to order.
