School and Gymnastics

Starting this month of September we enrolled the kids in some new activities.
They really love being involved and doing new things.  They love to learn and I love providing them with the opportunities!
The board I made for the preschool.
Asher is in a co-op preschool, we call Monkey School, with 3 other kids.  It's a great start for him and I get to be his teacher every 4th week:)
 Asher's 1st day of school.
He and his class meet 2 times a week.  They learn a letter a day and usually get to do some coloring and a project and learn some values and social skills.
Vaden and Asher on the first day.  Vaden doesn't go to the school but she does get to be a guest student when it's at our home!  She loves it and she also loves when Asher is at school because she gets to have one-on-one school with mom.  We are working on her colors and shapes:)
Here is our school board when it is closed.

And here is the back.  It has our class rules and also our schedule flip chart.  See the picture below for the open flip chart to see some of our activities:)

Asher is so excited that he has school.  He got a backpack!  He loves Dora and he loves pink, so this is what he chose:)
He constantly talks about how he has school but it is for little kids because his mom takes him to school and the big kids ride the school bus, but he is too little to ride the school bus.  But he is bigger than Vaden so he gets to go to school...
Faith, Belen, Jonah, Asher, Jack, Matilda
Here is Asher's class, plus visitors.  I was babysitting a couple of kids also so they just joined our school!

Storybook time.  I made some disc style seats with Monkeys on them that the kids sit on during circle time.

Play time with Jack and Matilda.

 Asher and Jonah playing.

Here is my kids on their first day of gymnastics.
They are super cute in their outfits.

Vaden has a mommy-and-me class.  She loves her class and is really getting good at tumbling.
She loves her "ta-da" and I love it too.  It is really cute that she throws her hands in the air and yells "ta-da" after each thing!
Asher is a little more timid in his class, but he is getting more comfortable with it and learning a lot.
My kids are so active it is good to have a place they can go and get some good, positive play and learning time. (I hope it wears them out also so I can have some good, positive me time:)
They are both so strong and flexible, they are fun to watch and I love to have them show off for any visitors- fair warning!
These pictures are at Loudoun Gymnastics, which we actually don't go to anymore.  We go to a place called My Gym in Sterling.  It is not a competitive gymnastics gym, but is tailored specifically for young children.  It is great and so good for them.  I am very impressed with their set-up.
They get to do skill sets, free play, games, pretend play, and some strength exercises.
I love seeing my kids learn and grow and become all they can be!

Emmet at 2 months old

Emmet is already 2 months old!
 His stats are:
Height: 24.25 inches (92%)
Weight: 13 lbs. 9 oz. (76%)
Head Circumference: 15.25 inches (32%)
Emmet is a sweet boy and already has 2 life long friends!
He is a great baby.  He is already starting to sleep through the night (which is better than our other 2 kids!).  He loves to be held, of course.  He is a smiley little guy.   He will get the biggest smiles when we talk to him and hold him.  He likes to watch us eat, and just smile and smile!
He is a great sport already as he has Vaden to deal with.  She smothers him with love all day long.  They love each other so much already, it's amazing!  Though I hope they are always close and best friends, I do hope Vaden eventually will let him be independent:)
In this next photo Vaden is attempting to "feed" Emmet from her belly button!
He doesn't care for a pacifier.  This is a first in our house since we had to bribe the other kids to get rid of theirs.  He will on occasion suck on his hand, but he is a pretty content baby.
Best buds!  Asher is a sweetheart with Emmet.  He will read him stories and talk to him.
It's a more reserved show of affection, but still huge amounts of love.
He is growing sturdy and can hold his head up for small amounts of time, though he is still working on the control:)
 The three musketeers!
They love doing everything together.  They bathe together, play together, read together, sleep together, ride the stroller together (I'll have to take a pic of that), eat together, watch shows together, go to storybook time together, play games together, etc.  Of course, Emmet doesn't know most of this is happening but the other kids do.  I love that he is included in their lives.

He loves to be in the swing and rock to sleep.  He also likes to be held while sleeping though he is funny about it because he won't turn his head so his nose is smashed up on us.  He has a lot of awake time now and loves to look at the world around him, especially his family.  I am so grateful for my new little guy and am constantly in awe of my growing family (well, when I have time to just sit and enjoy them:)

Last Update- hopefully!

Okay, so I was so far behind with our blog that I have been doing updates for a while.  Hopefully this is the last one, and if I've repeated anything- oh well, I can't keep track anymore:)

The 4th of July
We didn't do anything fancy for the fourth of July.  We just did some simple fireworks in the drive way for the kids to watch.
 Daddy lighting them.
Wow! Exciting, huh?  Well, it was for the kids.  They loved them, and they were about the right size because when we did anything bigger or louder, they got scared.
Vaden's face during one of the big ones:)
 Helping Daddy clean up.
We also dressed up as cows and went to Chick-fil-a Day.
Giddy-up!

Updates- National Zoo

We went to the National Zoo back before Emmet.
The kids had a great time, but I think Ryan had the most fun:)  He wanted to see ALL the animals, but unfortunately he was with 2 youngs kids and a very pregnant woman!
Asher and Vay looking at the lion cubs!  I'm glad we went when we did so we could see them.
Daddy holding up the kiddos so they could see the turtles (this was Asher's favorite animal to see- go figure)
 Doing their best 'bear looks'
 Fascinated by the gorillas
 Enjoying the Elephant show
It's amazing how well trained they are!
 Taking a break!
And of course playing on the giant pizza!
After seeing a few animals, all they wanted to do was to play here.  We had to convince them to go see more animals.

More Updates- Strawberry Patch

Back in June, we went to a strawberry patch to let the kids pick their own strawberries.
The kids loved it and had so much fun finding red berries!
 We love outings with Daddy!
The kids loved that there were slides also.
Asher is such a big boy and would go all by himself, but Vaden needed some help as the slides would go super fast and she would fly of the end.
