December was a crazy time for us. First of all, we moved! We just got our internet set up so here is our update. We are now closer to Ryan's work and also in a 3 bedroom townhome. We have a lot more space now and even have a garage! We are very excited to be somewhere new and to be much closer to Ryan's work.
Of course we also celebrated the holidays. Ryan's brother Richard and his fiance, Emily came to town for a visit. They came and stayed with us (the day after we moved in). It was great to meet Emily and to visit with Ryan's family. We met the other Washington D.C. Crockett's on the national mall Monday where we toured the monuments, walked by the White House and visited the National Christmas Tree. Next, we all went to the Washington D.C. temple (which is gorgeous) and viewed the Christmas lights. After, we all went out for pizza before heading back home.
We spent a quiet Christmas at home with just our small family of 3. Santa left us a Christmas tree and filled our stockings:) We decided to do a home-made Christmas for each other this year. It was quite enjoyable and creative. I can't wait to use my coupon for a weekend trip to anywhere!
Ryan traveled to St. George, Utah for Richard and Emily's wedding the end of the month. He had a great time with his family and is glad he was able to attend his brother's wedding.
On New Year's Eve, I picked Ryan up from the airport, we dropped Asher off with his babysitter, and we went to the theatre. We saw 'A Christmas Carol' at Ford's Theatre. It was a lot of fun. I really enjoy going to plays and spending time with just Ryan:) We had pizza, sparkling grape juice and chocolates to celebrate the new year even though we didn't stay up until midnight. Ryan's flight the night before was a red-eye and he was super tired.
Between all the excitement of December, we've slowly been trying to unpack all of our belongings and made our new place feel like home. It may take a few more weeks:)
