Yes, we have a car!!! After 2 years of using Chicago's public transportation and having to tack a half hour (at least) on to every outing we'd take, we finally have our own means of transportation. It's so nice to have. And much more essential in Virginia. There's still public transportation here, but it takes much longer than it ever did in Chicago. I think it's because everything is actually spread out. And there's parking! In Chicago, whether you had a car or not, you were better off taking the bus or train just because there was never any parking and if there was it was soooooo expensive. Here there is parking everywhere and it's free. It's amazing that such small things can make us so happy:)

Congrats on the new car! I wish we could afford a new car, not that the one we have isn't fine, but believe it or not we need something bigger than a compact. Minivan here we come! :)
