Thankful for Asher

Asher is such a good kid and I'm so grateful to be his mom.  He is now 21 months old.  He still doesn't talk, though he let's us know what he wants or doesn't want.
He is great at sharing. He makes sure that everyone has a toy.  He makes sure that Dad, Mom, and Vaden all have a ball so we can play with him.  He does the same with food and other things.  But he also isn't so great at sharing.  He is starting to claim things.  He has his toys and he knows they are his so he sometimes won't let others play with it.  He is such a big kid too that when he gets physical he usually wins.  He does express frustration by slapping or pushing.  When he gets to0 rough with Vaden and she cries, he knows he's in trouble and he runs away.  It's pretty funny.  Though we always make him say sorry.  Since he doesn't talk he gives her kisses.  He doesn't give hugs either, but he's great at kisses.  Lately, he gives forehead kisses.  This is where he 'lets' us kiss his forehead by putting his head on our lips.
He is a great big brother.  He is always concerned and helping to take care of Vaden.  He loves to play with her and is always finding new ways to include her.  The other day she was on the floor on a blanket and he started pulling her around on the blanket.  He is still a little kid though because he always wants to do what she is doing.  When she is in her jumper, Asher wants to be in his little activity center.  He plays with her, 'feeds' her, changes her diaper, cleans her nose using the nose sucker, 'reads' to her, talks to her, and just loves her so much.
Asher also loves to help.  He is starting to watch us more closely and copy what we do.  He likes helping me cook.  He loves to brush his teeth, comb his hair, put deodorant on, and put lotion on:)  He loves taking showers and thinks that he needs to get in the shower whenever Ryan or I do.  He is also great at making messes.  He loves to throw his food.  But since he loves to help and do what we do, he is more than happy to help us clean up.
He is still very much a Daddy's boy.  He loves his dad and loves playing with him.  Ryan is always great to make Asher feel special and loved.  He always plays with him and takes him on walks and to check the mail (one of Asher's favorite things).

I am so grateful for my family.  I love them so much, it's scary!

Asher also thinks he is big enough to carry his sister, and he almost is!  That makes things a big scary because he can lift her up but not actually carry her.  And when we do help him carry her, when we get to where he wants her, he just drops her.  I hope he learns to be more gentle:)
Here's a few more of Asher's favorite things:
He loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Shaun the Sheep.  He loves balls, especially basketball.  He loves to play trains with his dad.  He loves playing rough with dad (he pushes dad down and then pulls him up, over and over again.  He also climbs all over dad).  He loves his sister and is always excited when we bring her in to him.  He loves playing with other kids (when they come to our house he runs around screaming his excitement).  He loves to laugh and usually thinks everything is funny.  He loves to dance; he has a toy piano that plays tunes and will turn this on and dance around in circles.  He loves being outside and he loves running.  He loves to put things on his head, like boxes or blankets, and walk around (he runs into things and falls over too but it's all part of the game). And he still loves his pacifier.

Asher has recently learned how to fart (thanks to his dad) and he thinks it is so funny!  Whenever I change his diaper he will try to fart and he thinks it's so funny when he does.  Whenever anyone else farts or burps he laughs so hard.  It's so hard not to laugh with him because he's so funny about it.  He is starting to help dress himself.  He likes to pick out his clothes and he has to be dressed.  He gets so upset if we don't put his clothes on.  He will get his clothes and follow us around until he is dressed.  He also brings us Vaden's clothes or our clothes.  He has in his mind how things should be, and he makes sure they are that way:)
We sure love this little guy!  And he loves us in return.
